Swipe Events is a speed friending and networking app that makes meeting new people structured, organised, and simple. There’s no guessing who to talk to and no awkward introductions — the system handles everything for you.
To get started, create an account by verifying your phone number, uploading 2–6 profile photos, and adding your basic details such as name, city, age, and gender. Once your profile is set up, you can book a place at one of our upcoming speed friending or networking events directly through the app, our website, or Eventbrite.
On the night of the event, arrive at the venue and check in by pressing “I’m Here” in the app. The system will automatically assign you to your first conversation. Each interaction lasts around 8 minutes, giving you enough time to chat and see if you’d like to stay in touch.
After each conversation, you can select Connect, Friend, or No Thanks in the app. This keeps everything private and pressure-free. At the end of the event, all selections are finalised.
Within about an hour, you’ll receive the contact details of everyone you mutually chose to connect with, so you can continue the conversation after the event — socially or professionally — without any awkward exchanges on the night.

Swipe Events uses a structured system inspired by speed dating to organise in-person social interactions. You create a profile, book an event, and attend a live session at a bar or venue. On the night, the app automatically pairs you with other attendees for short conversations, usually lasting around 8 minutes. After each interaction, you privately select Connect, Friend, or No Thanks in the app. At the end of the event, mutual selections are matched and contact details are shared.
The structure is similar to speed dating, but the purpose is different. Swipe Events no longer runs traditional singles-only speed dating events with fixed gender ratios. Instead, the same efficient format is used for speed friending and networking across wider age groups, mixed genders, and inclusive audiences. This allows people to meet naturally without the pressure of dating expectations.
Creating a Swipe Events profile is simple and secure. Sign up through the website or mobile app, verify your phone number to prevent fake accounts, and upload 2–6 clear profile photos. You’ll also add basic details such as your first name, age, city, and gender. These details are used to manage event attendance and display profiles during live conversations.
When you arrive at the venue, open the Swipe Events app and press “I’m Here” to check in. The system will automatically assign you to your first conversation. Each interaction runs for a set time, usually around 8 minutes, before rotating you to the next person. Hosts are present to guide the event and ensure everything runs smoothly.
After each conversation, you make a private selection in the app. You can choose Connect if you’d like to stay in touch, Friend if you’d like a casual social connection, or No Thanks if you don’t wish to continue. These selections are never shown during the event and remain confidential.
At the end of the event, all selections are finalised by the system. Within approximately one hour, you’ll receive the contact details of everyone you mutually selected to connect with. This allows you to continue conversations after the event without exchanging details on the night.
Swipe Events runs a range of social events including speed friending, networking nights, mixers, and themed social sessions. While the platform is still often associated with speed dating due to its origins, current events are designed for friendship, community building, and professional networking rather than dating.
You can pause or delete your Swipe Events account at any time through Settings > Account Management. Pausing hides your profile temporarily. Deleting your account permanently removes your personal information, photos, selections, and matches from active systems within 30 days.
